When you become a mother, a lot changes in your life. New priorities pop up, daily tasks multiply, and suddenly, the things you used to have and do are slowly disappearing..
Their tasks become your tasks, you’re now making sure they stay healthy, get to commitments on time, and that they stay active and social.
And although you wouldn’t trade being a mom for anything in the WORLD, it’s hard to find time for yourself. You find less time to get ready in the mornings, feeling like you leave the house looking an utter mess. You just want to apply a little more makeup, pay a little more attention to your hair — but you just don’t have the time..
I understand. I’ve been where you are now.
But, believe it or not, amongst the chaos, there are ways to make time for you and your beauty routine. If you love makeup, skincare, and beauty in general, keep reading to get some of my favorite beauty tips for the busy momma.
Not only are they affordable, they’re also adorable! Search the mini’s section at Ulta or Target and stock up on items you can keep with you at all times. Whether it be in your car or in your purse, having on-the-go makeup wipes, chapstick, mascara, compact mirror, razor, or similar products — these mini items may be the savior you need during a time crunch.
Keep them close and accessible, making it convenient for you to swipe a little bit of blush on your cheeks or add some mascara to your eyelashes. Whatever it may be, purchasing some practical on-the-good products may be one of the best decisions you ever make.
Dry shampoo can help you in your time of need because let's be honest — sometimes time just gets away from us. And whether you have a newborn or a four-year-old, it will happen — frequently.
But no matter our time constraints, our hair will get oily faster than we’d like it to.
Keep a mini dry shampoo with you in your purse, or a full-sized bottle on your countertop and let dry shampoo be the time-saver beauty item that saves the day.
I’m a big fan of coconut oil and the many health + beauty benefits that come from incorporating it into your daily beauty routine. But here’s a few time-saving examples of ways to make coconut oil work for you in a time-crunch.
Coconut oil improves your overall hair health, can lengthen your eyelashes, can smooth your dry lips, and can even be used as a moisturizer. ONE product that can do all these things. You can eliminate the need to use several different products by having just this one, helping you cut time off your morning routine, and giving you back the time you need to complete other tasks.
Using the coconut oil example — in order to help yourself save some time spent on a regimented beauty routine — seek out all-in-one beauty products that are beneficial.
For example, there are multiple moisturizers out there that also double as a foundation and sun protectant. Whether it be a tinted moisturizer or a foundation with all these aspects in one, seeking out and finding all-in-one products will help you save time in your beauty routine and leave you feeling just as beautiful and protected.
Making sure you’re getting enough water every day is important for your skin and your overall health and wellness. Not only should you be doing it for the sake of your health, but the added skin benefits can help with your beauty routine, as well.
Set aside a water bottle with enough ounces to keep you hydrated throughout the day, keeping you feeling good and your skin looking glowy. This will help you feel more confident with a natural look.
If you like the more natural, beachy waves look but don’t have the time to get up in the morning to curl your hair — make it a habit to braid it before bed.
In the morning, you’ll wake with beautiful hair, ready for a light brush and a spritz of hairspray. Then you’re good to go for the day!
This may seem obvious, but just try to make time for yourself. You and your self-care are a priority. Think about it — if you can’t function at your highest level, then your productivity will decrease throughout the day.
Even though it may feel like you don’t have time to do the things you like (like a beauty routine in the mornings) the reality is that you have the time if you make the time.
Before setting a sleep schedule, tailor it so that you have enough time to wake up in the mornings and get to do your beloved beauty routine. Also, make sure that you’re getting enough hours of sleep each night, as well. This is important.
If you decide you want to wake up earlier so you have more time, then do so! There are practical ways to have even a few minutes in the morning just for yourself and your beauty routine. That way, you feel energized when you wake up from getting enough sleep AND you’re up before the kids are, so you don’t have to multitask.
These are just a few of my tips and tricks to help save time for the busy momma! Ensured to help you feel your most confident and beautiful, while also not taking the time away from your children. I hope these tips were helpful. Let me know which ones work the best for you!
