Fitness groups are a great way to surround yourself with a community of like-minded people who are dedicated to the same health and fitness goals as you. If you’re still unsure, keep reading for the top 5 reasons you should join a fitness group.
How many times have you proclaimed that this year would be different than last year (and the one before that). You were going to stick to your weight loss or healthy lifestyle goal no matter what. Then, after a month of trying, you end up falling off the wagon and promising yourself that next year will be different. But why is it so hard to stay motivated towards your goals?
Because you’re trying to do it alone!
Something happens when you’re surrounded by committed people with the same goals as you. It is so empowering and motivating to workout with a skilled instructor and enthusiastic teammates.
How many times have you tried and failed to stick to an exercise routine? If you’re like most people, it’s probably more than you would like to admit. I used to be the same way!
It’s so easy to quit when you are only accountable to yourself. This is why group fitness classes are so beneficial. You have a built-in accountability group!
There is no bonding experience like sweating it out and pushing yourself beside other women just like you. If you see your friend grab heavier weights and push to beat her personal best record, you’re going to reach deeper and challenge yourself. If you notice your friend already did her workout, it motivates you to press play too!
Would you go as hard if you didn’t have people around you committed to the same thing? I highly doubt it.

Doing the same exercises over and over, especially if you don’t really enjoy them, will make you hate working out and more likely to quit. You need to enjoy exercise if you ever want to stick to your plan and reach your goals.
Doing a variety of workouts is also a great way to boost your fitness goals. When you mix it up from day to day it ramps up your metabolism and causes muscle confusion- both of which will lead to positive results! Joining a fitness group will eliminate boredom from your workouts and...
Between the music, the people, and the positive atmosphere- fitness groups are just plain fun! Whether virtual or in-person, exercise is just more fun when you’re not alone.
